Why do we go through our days without the thought in mind that God see’s all things? Proverbs 15:3 (NIV), “The eyes of the Lord are everywhere, keeping watch on the wicked and the good.” Jeremiah 16:17 (NIV) “My eyes are on all their ways; they are not hidden from me, nor is their sin concealed from my eyes.” Lord, help us! This goes for those of us too who are “Christian” and “Christ-like” only in the presence of other Christians. Our own selfishness blinds us to the very thought because until God’s will becomes our only directive we will seek to please our own agendas. I know that I had a very lengthy time where the thought of God seeing my actions never crossed my mind, let alone the very thought of God, period. Let me remind you that I grew up in the church from toddler age, so I can only imagine the allowance, grace, and mercy that God has for those who have never heard of Him. But, is it not something to be considered? God not only sees our actions but the very heart that we have when we commit to our acts. Proverbs 21:2 (NIV) says, “A person may think their own ways are right, but the Lord weighs the heart.” And if God weighs our hearts, He must see the ignorant state of our hearts when we commit the acts against Him and His Word. Even now as I grow it is the Lord’s Word that runs through my mind when I face those daily adversities. Don’t get me wrong, I am still a work in progress but when I think I am being treated unfairly and I go the extra mile to live in peace with all men, (Romans 12:18 (NIV)), and under my breath I chant, Lord help me! Lord help me! Lord help me! Lord help me! Lord help me!….LORD, HELP ME!
We see that our country is in a state of turmoil, and division brought upon by the scheme of the devil who loves division. Although Jesus was speaking in context of the devil at the time, His Word is true for all divisiveness when in Mark 3: 25-26 (NIV) He said, “If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand. And if Satan opposes himself and is divided, he cannot stand; his end has come.” So we, those who believe, know that the devil is working overtime, and in high-drive to recruit as many as he can in the demise of others. It is in our lack of knowledge that we all willingly walk into his traps, which is why we are directed in 1 Peter 5:8 (NIV), “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:”
Dear Heavenly Father,
Lord we come to You with a repentant heart, forgive us. We all have fallen short of Your Word and Your will. Thank You for seeing us in our ignorance and extending Your grace, mercy, and love. Thank You for leading us back into Your will and way even when we may fall again and again. Keep us Lord in the safety of Your arms as we navigate this divisive time in our world. Change our own divisive speech and contentious patterns so that we can line up with Your Word. Open the hearts of those who are unaware of Your ways, and soften their hearts to heed Your Word when their actions will lead them further away from You. For those who are completely unaware of You, put someone in their path that can lead them and intercede on their behalf. Lord, let us be ready for Your return. Let us continue to grow and believe that Your Word is true, and that You will never leave nor forsake us.
In the name of Jesus I pray,
